Hi there, I am Dr. Katie!

I have a passion and expertise working with people with movement disorders, namely Parkinson’s disease.

I enjoy connecting with my client’s and getting to know them on a personal level to understand how to best help.

Through the power of exercise and movement I have witnessed countless client’s regain mobility, improve function and thrive.

I want to help you do the same!

Dr. Katie earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC), and she has been a practicing physical therapist for 7 years working with clients with neurologic diagnoses. Her love of neuro has led her to become a Board Certified Neurological Clinical Specialist (NCS) and she is LSVT BIG Certified and PWR! Certified, which are Parkinson’s specific exercises. She has specialized in Parkinson’s care for 4 years.

When she is not helping her client’s she enjoys running, gardening, hiking with her dog and traveling the world with her husband!

Mission

I started this company with a strong determination to create a sustainable way to support the Parkinson’s community in their health journey. Our healthcare system is overwhelming and often those with chronic conditions find it hard to receive the consistent care they need.

Additionally, I felt overwhelmed working as a physical therapist within a big healthcare system. My busy workload kept me from providing all patients with adequate care given the many time and volume constraints.

Your health and wellbeing are of the utmost importance to me, and I promise to honor that always through Moved by Movement!

Approach to your care

You might be feeling some unwanted emotions by this diagnosis, but I want you to know I am here to help you along this journey.

Exercise should be enjoyable and individualized to your needs. I recognize that every person with Parkinson’s disease is unique and we all have personal fitness, health and movement goals. If we build fun around our exercise, our brain learns to crave it and exercise becomes more sustainable for lifelong benefits.

I spend time getting to know you and your needs. Using my specialized knowledge in neurologic wellness care (particularly Parkinson’s disease), I will help you make healthy brain changes- a phenomenon called neuroplasticity. This in turn helps you make movement changes that will last!

With consistent exercise, I will help you make lifelong changes that have the power to slow the progression of Parkinson’s!
